The Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI) takes a leading role in teaching and learning, professional education and digital learning innovation. ITaLI is a teaching, research and service delivery centre for teaching and learning practices at UQ.

ITaLI provides leadership, engagement and advocacy in educational innovation, teaching excellence, assessment and learning analytics, and aims to transform teaching and learning across the University through the delivery of faculty- and executive-prioritised teaching and learning projects and services. ITaLI addresses areas of unmet need in teaching and learning to improve the learning experience of students in line with the UQ Student Strategy.

 

About This Opportunity

As the Deputy Director (Strategy & Operations), you will support both the operations and strategic direction of ITaLI. You will develop strategies to enhance collaborative ventures and maintain relationships with key strategic partners. You will lead the delivery of operational and administrative services, advise the Director of ITaLI on operational issues, organisational structure, people management and programs to ensure the growth and effectiveness of the institute. 

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

 

Our Ideal Candidate

As the successful candidate, you'll have postgraduate qualifications in Education, Management, Communication or a related field. You will have extensive experience and management expertise (preferably in tertiary education), with a demonstrated knowledge of senior and business management concepts and issues, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
