Your Role

The MDM group aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying chronic inflammation and cancer. We especially focus on colorectal cancer. As the microbiome has recently gained a major interest in the CRC field, we are particularly interested in understanding the role of the microbiome in CRC. Microbiome-derived metabolites have been suggested to participate in tumor progression and metastasis dissemination. Recently, metabolites have been shown to induce epigenetic changes, which lead to epithelial to mesenchymal transition, ultimately inducing metastasis. The PostDoc will be driving projects on microbiome and tumor metabolism. A strong background in cancer metabolism and microbiome are highly encouraged.

Research area/domain

He/She:

  • will independently drive his/her project.
  • will conduct the research experiments and interpret them
  • will regularly report and discuss the results
  • will help supervising PhD students working in the microbiome field within the MDM group
  • will try solving problems encountered during the project
  • will have the opportunity to be involved in various projects running in the group
